The Great Kurdistan

The Great Kurdistan
The Kurdistan Region of Iraq is almost an independent region that has its own government, as a part of the Iraqi Centural Government, and it has its own president. Masood Barzani is the presedent of the Kurdistan Region, and Dr. Barham is the Prime Minester of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG). Erbil (Hawler) is the capital of this region. The majority of the people in this area are Kurds, and Kurd, after Shea and Arab Sunni, is one of the two major nations in Iraq. The population of the Kurdistan region of Iraq is 4.5 million people out of 30 million Iraqis, which is about 20 percent of the avarage of the Iraqi populatons. Also, 95 percent of the Kurdistan populatins are Muslim Sunnies.Kurds are the majority people in this area, but they are not the only nations; there are varities of the other Iraqi nations that live in this region of Iraq, such as Arabs, Turkemen, and Christians. The Kurdistan Region has much better security situation as compared with the other Iraqi areas. These days, Hundreds of vistors including foreign people, journalists, VIPS from different parts of the world are visiting this region almost every day via the two airports in both Erbil and Sulaimani. Today, Iraqi students have a chance to study the western style of education from their home by applying to The American Uinversity of Iraq-Sulaimani (AUI-S), which is a university that combines almost all of the Iraqi students from varities of the Iraqi nations. It is a university that offers the exact American system of education.
